What excites you most about the arrival of Spring Beauty? For me it mirrors fashion, COLOR! After the dark, dull months of winter I am so ready to brighten my wardrobe and cheeks with the spring collections gracing the pages of all the fashion and beauty magazines. From nails to eye shadow, this season is full of pops of neon and blushing pastels.
Starting with nails, CND has some amazing Shellac colors that are sure to make a statement. I love their coral called Tropix that would be great on fingers or toes! They also have a stunning turquoise called Hotski Tchotchski and a hot pink called Hot Pop Pink that would make any spring look come together. Shellac is a no-chip gel nail polish that outlasts a regular manicure for more than a week! Perfect for any traveling you may have planned to keep your manicure looking fantastic. If you have no time to hit the salon for some Shellac, check out these colors from CND’s nail polish line that were all the rage on the runway for NYFW Spring 2012 shows: Poppyfield, Raspberry, and Electric Orange. Wear them alone or top them off with a CND effect like Ice Blue or Jade Sparkle.
One of my favorite makeup items is cheek color! This spring has so many new choices I don’t even know where to begin. Perhaps with Chanel! Chanel has created a beautiful rosy cheek color called Glowing Blush Harmony that adds the right amount to enhance the cheeks. Add some glow to the top of the cheek bone with Lancôme’s new illuminating powder called La Roseraie. If you really want to add some drama for a night, perk up your cheeks with a splash of neon pink like this one from M.A.C. called Florida in their Cremeblend Blush line. With these products you are sure to be sporting the season’s best cheeks!
Eyes make a statement this season with pops of mint, blue and accents of yellow gold to romantic nudes with lots of mascara. Laura Mercier has an all in one palette called the Lingerie Collection that has all you need for your soft romantic eye look. For evening, brighten up the eyes with splashes of color like the spring collection from Nars. Mixing the gold and the blues are great contrasts to really make your eyes get noticed.
Lips are sure to impress with hot pinks and bright reds! Splash on some bright pink gloss for the day like the ones from Bobbi Brown’s Brightening Nudes collection, I personally love the Lilac Pearl gloss by itself or over my favorite lip color. Vamp it up for night, with this hot pink from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic called Anime in their Lip Tar formula. For a hot red lip, try Red Apple Lipstick’s Red!
Hair is making a statement with soft waves and lots of volume! Whether you are sporting a pony tail or wearing your hair down volume is a must! To add volume, try a dry shampoo and a volumizing mousse. I love my dry shampoo from T’eez called Dry Me especially to refresh and lift next day hair.
