DIY Friday: Tea Cup Tutorial

Posted on: February 17th, 2012 by mal in Beauty and Board, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Here at the Mal Pearson Production office we have been obsessed with Pinterest and all things DIY so we thought we would try our hand at doing our own! We burn candles here in the office and at home and we’ve noticed how some of the containers our favorite candles are in are not so attractive. We thought, why not put them in cute tea cups or jars that we love?  They can be found inexpensively at any thrift or antique store and hold up great to the heat of the wax. Here is a quick tutorial on how to make your own candles at home. Keep in mind the container you choose to put your candle in is completely up to you so get creative! Let us know how your candles turn out by posting your pictures on our Facebook page. www.facebook.com/malpearsonlive.

How to make your own tea cup candles:

1. Find a cute tea cup. I like to find mine at local
antique or thrift stores
2. Get wire wicks with a metal base
3. Microwave an old candle or wax flakes from the craft store
4. Set wick into tea cup and pour hot wax(carefully!)
5. Enjoy your homemade candle!
